Another i is a moniker for composer Tom Hodge. Hodge is an Ivor Novello-nominated composer, pianist, and clarinetist. He is known for pushing the boundaries of experimental contemporary classical through his collaborations with artists including Floex, Max Cooper, and Eivør, which blend electronic production and jazz aesthetics with his emotive and familiar song structures and melodies. He has released three albums as Piano Interrupted, his electronic chamber music project with Franz Kirmann, and one album in collaboration with Floex, which released on Mercury KX.
Most recently, Tom scored a new adaptation of The Ipcress File for Altitude Television, which aired on ITV in the UK and on AMC in the US. In 2021, he scored director Christian Schwochow’s German feature film Je Suis Karl with frequent collaborator Floex, which premiered at the 71st Berlin International Film Festival and is now streaming on Netflix. Previous credits also include Kevin Macdonald’s The Mauritanian, the acclaimed BBC/AMC crime drama series McMafia, which he wrote and produced the score with his frequent collaborator Franz Kirmann and the docu-drama series Rise of the Nazis for 72 films / BBC studios.
With his Another i moniker, Hodge merges his experimental forward sensibilities from his artist projects with the story driven, cinematic wisdom of his audio visual composer experience. On some of his Another i pieces, you will find collaborations with Irish opera singer and artist Kim Sheehan. The music of Another i has featured in campaigns for The Beguiled, Spotlight, Indignation and many more.
When not writing music, Hodge spends his time dealing with his most demanding clients’ constant need for food and attention, his two black cats named Gin & Juice.
