Tara Nome Doyle

Tara Nome Doyle is a composer, singer-songwriter, vocalist and producer. Based in Berlin, with Norwegian–Irish roots.

Most recently Tara created the score for ‘Rose’, Markus Schleinzer’s haunting period drama starring Oscar nominee Sandra Hüller, which premiered in competition at the 76th Berlinale, and won the Silver Bear for Best Actress. For its score, Doyle turned to the voice alone — pure, layered, minimal. No instruments, only the architecture of breath and tone. Variety described the score as “most sparely effective of all,” finding in its vocal strains “all the anguish that Rose, in all her stoic, assumed masculinity, keeps inside.” IndieWire wrote that Doyle’s entirely a cappella score “gives Rose the hallowed feeling of something holy, but also of history’s ghosts in the hall.” The score has already won the Diagonale Prize for Best Film Score at the Austrian Film Festival. It is currently in theaters in Europe and will be released in the U.S. later this year via Mubi.

On the artist front, Doyle first gained international attention with her 2018 debut single “Down with You”, which has now surpassed six million streams. Since then she has released three solo albums; Alchemy, Vaermin and Ekko, establishing her as a distinctive and genre-defying voice that is emotionally charged and sonically ambitious.

Doyle’s music has become increasingly prominent in Film and Television. She has collaborated on co-writes on multiple occasions with Isobel Waller-Bridge and her songs have been featured on Apple, Netflix HBO, Warner Bros. Showtime and many more.
